While we’re opening the site up in what we’ll go ahead and call beta, everything that’s online is totally functioning. And to start things off we’re holding a photo contest. Send pictures of local players at local rinks to suckerpuck@gmail.com to replace the current header image (the one flipped backwards at the top of this page.) The winner gets a free SP T-Shirt, and of course a photo credit with their picture.
Please include – the photo itself (preferably at least 900 pixels wide) as well as the name of the photographer, the players and their numbers, their teams (and the game’s outcome if you’d like) and the rink the photo was taken at. We hope to announce the winner in 6 weeks on the weekend of July 16th.
Let your hockey playing friends (and photographers) know!

Ok, well I certainly don’t have the amount of time I’d like to put into the site, but hopefully as it stands it will be a useful tool for local hockey players. A few things to note:
- We have a forum, that works! Feel free to post about events, swap gear, recruit players, etc.
- We have a goalie list (with no one on it yet!) If you’re a goalie and are looking for sub games, please hop over to the goalies page and put your name down. (We never share your information with anyone, it’s all confidential.)
- We have pickup and stick and shoot info. We’re working on keeping it current but it takes a lot of work. (If you’d like to help us with this, please contact us.)
But, all in all we have a lot of info about the local rinks – from maps, ratings and events to info on pickup, stick and shoot, etc. I certainly hope it helps everyone, and please continue to send us your ideas and suggestions. While it sometimes takes a while, we’ll get back to you, and we’re working to incorporate as much feedback as possible.
Brendan, look for a Hockey Starter page soon.

Just an update, still adding some new features, uploading info and more. Lots of changes on the database and internal structure of the site. If you run into an error PLEASE let us know. In the meantime, we seem to be making progress. Fingers crossed.
If you want to help us test a few things, head over to the forum and play around with it.

SuckerPuck is currently undergoing a total reboot. Some new elements are being added, in addition to a new look and much more. Please bear with us as we work everything out, and stay tuned for an announcement near the end of March!
